The Picene territory extending from Ascoli to the seaside area is a sequence of many towns rich of historic value and unexpected works of art. Among them: Offida, famous for the lace crafts (tombolo) and Doc wines production, Acquaviva Picena, famous for the Medieval Stronghold, Ripatransone, Monteprandone and San Benedetto del Tronto (see below).

San Benedetto del Tronto
 
At 32 kilometres from Ascoli Piceno , this town has very remote origins.It is one of the most famous seaside resort of the Adriatic coast but also well known for its Fishing Market, one of the largest in Italy . In the lower part with its tree-lined avenues the beautiful promenade created in 1932 is nowadays considered among the most spectacular in Italy .

      To the North of San Benedetto del Tronto Grottammare is to be mentioned. Lively seaside resort, rich of history and tradition with its ancient small village where a wonderful panoramic view can be admired. Cupramarittima is famous for the Malacological Museum displaying one of the largest collection of sea shells from throughout the world.In the hinterland Ripatransone, a small village of important artistic value, with its interesting and valuable Pinacoteca (Picture Gallery).
